Law Enforcement Guidelines
Last Updated: 3 December 2025
These Law Enforcement Guidelines describe how Astronova Host (“Astronova”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles requests from law enforcement and other government authorities for customer information.
1. Our General Approach
We respect the privacy and rights of our customers and their end-users. Astronova only discloses customer information when required by applicable law, subject to these Guidelines and our contractual obligations.
2. Legal Process Required
Law enforcement requests must be valid and lawful under the applicable jurisdiction. Depending on the type of information sought, we may require:
- A subpoena or similar order for basic subscriber information.
- A court order for certain transactional data.
- A search warrant or equivalent for content data.
3. Where to Send Requests
Official requests should be addressed in writing and include sufficient detail to identify the relevant account or content. Requests can be sent to:

We may request that you verify your identity and authority before we process the request.
4. Emergency Requests
In cases involving an imminent risk of serious harm or death, law enforcement may submit an emergency disclosure request. Such requests must clearly state the nature of the emergency, the information sought, and why disclosure is necessary.
5. Notice to Customers
Unless prohibited by law or court order, we may provide notice to affected customers before disclosing their information, giving them an opportunity to object or seek legal remedies. In some circumstances (for example, when contact information is outdated or the request is urgent), we may not be able to provide advanced notice.
6. Content vs. Non-Content Data
Where applicable law distinguishes between content and non-content data, we will apply the appropriate standards and only disclose content data when legally required to do so.
7. Data Availability and Limitations
Astronova may not retain all categories of data indefinitely. Our data retention practices may limit the information available in response to requests. We will not create or retain data solely for the purpose of responding to future law enforcement requests.
8. Cost Reimbursement
To the extent permitted by law, Astronova may seek reimbursement for costs associated with responding to complex or burdensome requests.
9. Customer Responsibilities
Many customers use our Services to store or process data about their own users. In such cases, customers may be better positioned to respond directly to law enforcement requests. We may, where appropriate and lawful, refer requestors directly to the relevant customer.
10. Non-Governmental Requests
Requests for data from private parties (for example, civil litigants) generally require a valid subpoena, court order, or equivalent legal process. We do not respond to informal or overly broad requests.
11. Transparency
Subject to legal constraints, Astronova may publish aggregated information about law enforcement requests in transparency reports or similar publications.
12. No Legal Advice
These Guidelines are for informational purposes only and do not create enforceable rights for third parties. They are not legal advice.
